Pantrydle FAQ
Short answers about how the daily dish puzzle works. For full detail, see the rules and strategy pages.
What is Pantrydle?
Pantrydle is a free browser game where you guess a secret dish using eight attributes: cuisine, main ingredient, cook method, taste, time band, difficulty, vegetarian status, and serving temperature.
Is Pantrydle free?
Yes. The daily puzzle and Unlimited practice mode are free to play in your browser. No account is required.
How many guesses do I get?
Each round allows up to eight guesses. If you have not found the dish after eight tries, the answer is revealed.
What time does the daily puzzle change?
The puzzle uses the UTC calendar date. A new secret dish appears at UTC midnight for everyone.
What do green, yellow, gray, and arrows mean?
Green is an exact attribute match. Yellow is a close cuisine family. Gray is a miss. On Time and Difficulty, ↑ means the answer is higher on the scale and ↓ means lower.
Can I play more than one puzzle per day?
The daily mode is one shared puzzle per UTC day. Use Unlimited mode anytime for extra random rounds.
Does Pantrydle save my streak?
Yes, a streak counter is stored in your browser’s local storage for daily wins. Clearing site data resets it.
Where can I see past days?
The Archive page lists soft clues for recent UTC days (cuisine and dish number only) without revealing answers.
Is Pantrydle affiliated with restaurants or other games?
No. Pantrydle is an independent food puzzle and is not affiliated with any restaurant brand or game studio.
